Teamwork and the Wisdom of Geese
Fact 1:
As each goose flaps its wings it creates "uplift" for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.
Lesson: We can get where we are going faster and easier together.
Fact 2:
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.
Lesson: Be willing to accept help as well as giving it.
Fact 3:
When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose flies to the point position.
Lesson: People are interdependent on each other's unique arrangements of gifts, talents or resources.
Fact 4:
The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
Lesson: Communication and encouragement are key achieving team goals.
Fact 5:
When a goose gets sick. Wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation or catch up with the flock.
Lesson: Stand by each other through thick and thin". -- Walsh Seminars.
Here are the links to my comments this morning in regard to the correlation between the migrations of Canadian Honkers and (pick one - or as many as apply), teamwork, riding in the pack, becoming stronger as individuals to further contribute to the team effort, motivation, encouragement, empathy, communication.

Great 90 minute migration session today folks. We were flyin' in tight formation!!! We'll get after it again, riding TTs on Wednesday (one spot left) and Friday (one spot left). If you are interested in upping your game (see uplift above) through the encouragement of your teammates, simply land on the comments tab below and send me a honk.
Have a wonderful weekend.
