BAC CompuTrainer Multi-Rider FAQs

Some introductory information about the new CompuTrainer Multi-Rider Center at the Bainbridge Athletic Club.

We have four units that will be set up and ready to go on Labor Day.

You can ride solo, as a group, with a partner or a team. 1-4 people.

The system is modular, scaleable to allow expansion as demand dictates.

You ride your own bike to create specific geometry muscle memory.

We will also have two bikes (sized for gender) available for easy use.

Hours of operation are BAC hours, seven days a week.

Reservations can be made by calling the front desk.

To start we will focus on four specific areas:

Individual Time Trials

Two person team racing

Group rides

Specific course rides (Chilly Hilly, STP, Ironman)

There are many other uses for the CompuTrainer, personal testing, ftp tests, custom fitting, spin scan analysis, internet racing, all of which are available by request.

You do NOT have to be a member of the BAC to ride the CT MR.

The two person team racing begins the week after the 2011 Ironman World Championships, October 11.

We will start with the following categories: (= combined age)

Men Open (<70)

Men Open (70-99)

Male Masters (>100)

Female Open (<70)

Female Open (70-99)

Female Masters (>100)

Juniors (<46)

Mixed (<70)

Mixed (70-99)

Mixed Masters (>100)

League will consist of 10 weeks of team racing, one per week on varying courses. Prizes will be awarded to divisional champions. Cost is $100 per team. You may participate in more than one division. Each team, will consist of three people, the third being an alternate. Race nights are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9pm.

League Sign up sheets and supporting information will be posted at the BAC beginning Labor Day.

As always, for additional information, please use the comments tab below, or call 360.674.8128.

We all look forward to an exciting new riding, racing and training opportunity at the BAC. Let's have some fun.

VIDEO is a mash up I cut years ago (in standard def) showing the Multi-Rider in use in several locations, Kona, Chilly Hilly, The Seattle Bike Show, CompuTrainer Annex, The Gym at the Pavilion, Armed Forces Triathlon Championships from Ventura, CA, Mason Lake Road Race, Trioba Adventure Race and lots more. It is hosted by Heidi Grimm who set many records as a US Army Triathlete.

Pic is of Stephanie yesterday answering my question about nutrition and RPE. Answer appeasers to be Clif Bars and OMG. Excellent!

is that a diet Coke?

i'm wondering how old you have to be to spin or cycle indoors? i suppose its on the website but it seems like there might be a largely untapped source of customers in those ipod wielding youngsters (e.g., my son). how about a mixed old/young category.

Iced coffee iirc.

That is a very good question on the KIds. We have a U23 division but that is still not addressing the, shall we say, 8-15 year olds, several of which might get some serious value from the CT MR. I know a few personally. I will add it and see what type of response we get. It would also augment to my personal mirth (always a goal) to see my nephew cut up a TT course. Mixed young/too, great idea, Father & Son, Mother & Daughter, nice. Thanks for the suggestion.

Rich kids @ $100/team for U23?

$100 for ten races divided by two or three is $5 or $3.33 per race. What am I missing?

FW said...

Such a deal on a per session basis.

KML5 said...

Very much so. Less than the cost of peanut M&Ms (the big bag.)

Willow said...

How do you know the cost of peanut M&M's "the big bag?"
You must have done some market research!! :)

Oooppppss, Busted. I don't. I am ASSUMING that they are more than $3.33. Am I wrong or simply careless? How's the goats milk?

Willow said...

I don't know either! Our family doesn't do candy, but we can often be seen in the chocolate cake aisle! Ha!!

Goat's milk is better than cow's milk. I know there is still lactose in it, but for some reason I can digest it better! I truly do the best w/ coconut or almond milk! How can I live w/o butter though? My life will never be the same! Ha

See you tomorrow??
