Mom would have been 80 today. For fifteen years I have stewarded one of her favorite plants since we moved it north from Los Angeles to Seattle. I take it outside in the spring and bring it in for the cold fall and winter. It seems to respond well despite the temperature challenge. I think it is some type of Asiatic Lily. Whatever its genus, it bloomed today.Happy Birthday Mom.

Thanks. She was as sweet a person as I have ever met. The bromeliad (thanks again for the ID) to me is a constant reminder of the brevity of our time here. And perhaps even more importantly, the connectivity of all things.
